Every summer people flock from far and wide to the Sheffield Documentary Festival (UK). Described by Indiewire as the “Cannes for documentary people”, this eclectic six day spectacle has become somewhat of a pilgrimage for die hard documentary fans. Each year, over 20,000 people transform Sheffield into a showcase for some of the industries most groundbreaking directors and their work, making it an unmissable date in the film festival calendar.
As life-long fans of the Sheffield Doc Fest, we are acutely aware of the growing pains the festival has experienced as it’s expanded. Accommodating 20,000 people over the course of a week is no mean feat, and it’s no surprise that with so many attendees requiring a place to stay, hotels are booked out months in advanced.
Well, we have decided to tackle this challenge head on! Over the next month we’ll be working with our partners to offer attendees a great choice of unique accommodation in Sheffield. But these won’t be your average Premier Inns...We don’t offer hotels on It's All Share, we only work with people who rent out their rooms/apartments as well as independent local accommodation such as B&Bs. This means you get significantly cheaper rates and get to stay in unique places. No two places are alike and you’ll be able to ‘live like a local’, seeing places you wouldn’t normally get to see, as well meeting people local people along the way.
